CUTC celebrates diversity in all forms. We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual identity, ability, class, or age. We encourage all actors from all backgrounds to audition.
Guys and Dolls -- Unfortunately, auditions and performances have been postponed. We are hoping to reschedule for August and will post the information as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!
Auditions will be held over two weekends - dance auditions on Saturday, April 4;
acting and singing auditions on April 10 & 11.
All auditions will take place at CUTC, 117 E University Ave., Champaign. Parking is available behind the building. Enter from the back of the building.
Students must be 13 by July 31 through those graduating from high school in May in order to audition. Sign up here to audition.
Dance auditions will be held April 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A brief class and short combination will be taught in 45-minute time slots. The student should dress in clothes and shoes you can comfortably dance in. The choreographed portion will be filmed at the end for absent staff to view and will be deleted following the show's casting.
Acting and singing auditions will be held April 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. and April 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students will read from audition sides available online and at the audition site (no memorization required) and bring a 32 bar cut (about 1 minute) of music with piano accompaniment to sing. Songs should be from the Great American Songbook or a Golden Age Musical (1940-1960), not from Guys and Dolls. No acapella.
Please bring music that lays flat or is hole punched in a 3 ring binder in a way that minimizes page turns for the accompanist. Clearly mark your starting and ending points as well as any tempo changes. If photocopying, please be sure that all of the music is clearly visible and no notes are cut off. Students will be filmed during their audition for absent staff to view and will be deleted following the show's casting.
Audition sides can be found below. You do NOT have to have these memorized.
Copies will be available at the audition site.
Callbacks will be held April 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. Students will be contacted individually if they are needed.
Students are highly encouraged to attend both the dance and the acting/singing auditions if at all possible. If a student cannot attend the dance audition but wants to be considered for a lead or principal dancer, please email email@example.com.
If a student cannot attend the acting/singing audition but wants to be considered for the cast or ensemble, please email

Murder Mystery actors wanted!

If you enjoy improvising or taking on other characters, you’ll probably do well in a murder mystery. Many of our current actors became involved after attending just one murder mystery. Participants also receive a free meal.
